Hailing from the vibrant border town of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Mariana Elizabeth Grahl, emerged into a world pulsating with rhythm and melody. Born into a family of church musicians, she was surrounded by harmonies and instruments from the moment she took her first breath.
Her journey into the spotlight began at the tender age of 4, stealing the show as the opening act for Mexican songstress Viola Trigo. From that moment on, Mariana found herself entwined in the fabric of performance, gracing stages both local and international with her mesmerizing voice.
At just 8 years old, Mariana Elizabeth embarked on a new adventure, joining forces with the regional TV station's kids' show. For over 5 years, she dazzled audiences with her charm, interviewing visiting artists, lending her voice to commercials, and even belting out tunes live on air.
Throughout her illustrious career at such a young age, she has left an indelible mark on the music scene, performing at prestigious festivals like the legendary Acapulco Fest and the esteemed Festival Internacional de Otoño. She also commanded the attention of audiences at iconic venues such as the World Trade Center in Mexico City and the illustrious Teatro De Las Bellas Artes in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
At the age of 15, Mariana found herself serenading crowds with local variety bands, lending her enchanting vocals to weddings, special events, and corporate gatherings. By 18, she embarked on an internship with another local TV station, where her talents extended beyond entertainment and into the realm of international news reporting for the main news show.
With only 21 years old and, while still in college, Mariana caught the attention of Multimedios Radio, where she served as an On-Air Talent for over three years. In this role, she not only hosted entertainment and variety shows but also showcased her journalistic prowess by anchoring a news show. Additionally, she spearheaded the organization of live events and meet-and-greets with bands, bringing a touch of excitement to the airwaves of northern Tamaulipas and the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas.
In tandem with her radio career, Mariana delved into the realm of vocal coaching at the age of 18, imparting her knowledge and expertise in recording studios across Matamoros and Brownsville, including esteemed establishments like Cosecha Viva Records, Pangea Music, and Medina Records.
In 2017, seeking personal growth and new horizons, Mariana made the leap to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. There, she immersed herself in the local music scene, teaching piano and voice lessons at Scottsound Music for over three years while also offering private lessons in her spare time. Her musical talents continued to flourish as she collaborated with bands spanning diverse genres, from jazz and top 40s to Latin tropical, pop, cumbia, gospel, and CCM.
In 2019, fate intervened, and she crossed paths with Pepe Valdez, embarking on a captivating musical journey known as "El Chanclazo." Together, they set out to celebrate Traditional Latin Music, infusing it with their unique Bohemian flair. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, their passion for music persevered, propelling them to new heights of popularity and enabling them to share their cultural heritage with an ever-expanding audience.
On a personal note, Mariana found love and companionship in 2021, tying the knot with her soulmate, Anthony. Academically accomplished, Mariana holds degrees in education and mass media communication, along with diplomas in nursing assistance and music, specializing in piano. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is currently mastering the intricacies of Portuguese.
Cooking serves as Mariana's creative outlet and love language, with a penchant for grilling that borders on obsession. An avid lover of water and, dreaming on living by the beach, Mariana's ideal day is spent grilling by the pool, listening to her favorite songs, savoring an ice cold beer and surrounded by her husband and her dog, Barbas.
